T-Money Week 6: Back on Track! (^_^)

I am finally getting back on track! Saving money instead of being in the hole.  Hopefully it stays this way!!!

Do you see that???? $0 spent on shopping!  That deserves a moment of silence…………

Moment’s over…lol.

For this upcoming week, I get to up my shopping budget again! Not to the full $50, but gonna start out with $35.  Hope I can stick to it! 🙂

T-Money Week 4

So I’m pretty much epically failing….smh.  And so far this week I haven’t been doing very well either. *sigh* Please keep me in prayer as I try to get it together because money is not a thing to be trifled with, especially not now.

But I will not be discouraged.  See ya next week.

T-Money Week 3 aka “The Total Fail”

You guys…I completely failed this week as far as sticking to my budget.  I had my trip to Philly for my Step 2 CS and that stress along with all the stuff that went wrong over those 24 hours caused me to fall back into an old bad habit…EMOTIONAL SHOPPING!!!  As a result, my budget suffered quite a bit…*sigh* Here are last week’s results….

So after talking with my spending/budget buddy Natalie (and you can visit her blog HERE), we decided a good way to offset the cost would be to lower the shopping portion of the budget to $20 for the next few weeks, until the money we save balances out however much we overspent.  So for example.  I overspent about $60.  My regular shopping budget is $50.  So I would have to survive on $20 for shopping for about two weeks to offset the cost of how much I over-shopped this past week.  I hope you guys got that…lol.  I figured lowering the spending budget would be waaay more feasible than not shopping at all (you guys know how I get).  So…let’s see if I can survive the next two weeks on a $20 shopping budget…lol.

T-Money Version 2.0: Week 2 Recap

Definitely very proud of myself for staying on budget this week and even UNDERSPENDING!  And that was partially due to me staying home this weekend and not touching my fun fund, along with smart spending on food 🙂

As you can see, I overspent in one area, Necessities, which is because I had to replace some toiletries (face wash, conditioner, etc.) BUT I won’t have to buy any of those things for the rest of the month (at the least) so that should help out a LOT.

Also, I saved just about $60 last week which is AWESOME. What am I gonna do with those savings? Well, 1. Part of it will be going towards the “fun fund” for this upcoming weekend since I’m planning to do on my first beach trip for the summer; and 2. Shopping!/School stuff – I have my eyes on a few things from Alloy AND I need to invest in a stylish big bag that can hold my laptop (and case) and whatever’s in my purse. We’ll see how that goes in the recap for next week 🙂

Don’t forget to check out my girl Nat’s chronicle of her budget on her blog, A Blogged Confessional, and subscribe to her blog as well.

See you guys next week!

T-Money Version 2.0: Week 1 Recap

Hey Guys!  So here’s the recap of my budget spending for the past week.  For the first week I didn’t do too bad but I did overspend a wee bit.

Like I said, overspent a little bit but didn’t do too bad.  I really do feel like I can do this again guys!  Especially with my shopping allowance 🙂  Oh, and in case you’re wondering how I’m keeping track of my budget:  1. http://www.mint.com ; 2. Saving ALL my receipts lol

T Money Version 2.0 **UPDATE**: Shopping Allowance added to my Budget

Sooooo….after discussing it with my fellow budget buddy Natalie (you can visit her blog, where she’s doing a phenomenal job of chronicling her budget experience and offers GREAT advice as she goes along, HERE), I realized that cutting out shopping cold turkey is totally not good for my health.  Totally. Not.

So I decided to just give myself a weekly shopping budget to which I’d have to stick.  I honestly think that would be just as hard as not shopping at all.  So my weekly Leisure Shopping Budget (and this is for clothes, make up, nail polish, things of that nature) will be $50/week = $650.  This brings my new total budget for the next 13 weeks or so to:  $3,600.

I’ve added all this info to my T Money Version 2.0 Post, so you can see all the OTHER details there, if you haven’t already checked it out.

Hope you guys are getting ready for a fun and responsible 4th of July weekend!

Love and God Bless,
