POP UP POST // 2014 Met Gala Best Dressed: Rihanna

Already posted today, BUT I definitely couldn’t let the 2014 Met Gala pass by without acknowledging the awesome event!

For those of you who may not know, the Met Gala is an annual fashion, dinner, cocktail party, and fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.  The event has been held since 1971, and currently Anna Wintour (the editor-in chief of Vogue magazine) organizes the event’s theme and guest list containing various  celebrities in fashion and entertainment who attend rocking the highest of fashion for the event.  This year’s theme was “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” (Charles James was a British designer whose aesthetic was structured design).

The fashion at this year’s event was absolutely phenomenal!  Many hits (REALLY loved Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfield, and Arizona Muse’s looks!) and a few heartbreaking misses (like real talk, WHOEVER ruined Lupita needs to get a visit from The Beygency, in my humble opinion…)

Best dressed of the night for me, however, has got to go to Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty affectionately known as RiRi. The pure slayage she bestowed in this long-sleeved, white Stella McCartney cropped top and long skirt…it was just everything! And the messy updo and face beat to perfection? FLAWLESS!

To be perfectly honest, Rihanna has made me rethink the concept of my future wedding dress. I officially want it to look JUST like this (minus the cropped aspect): jewelled choker/high collar (if I can get it attached to the dress…I know Rihanna is rocking a necklace for this look though), back out, long sleeves, and purest of white. It is 100% my aesthetic: clean, understated sexy with modest overtones. Listen. So let it be written, so LET it be done! lol

To check out all of the guests and who they wore, head over to the NY Times site!  Then let me know down below, who your faves (and not so faves) were!

Until next time…

Love and God Bless,

– T
