Dressed To A T #67: Streetwear, Siblings, Sonic, Saturday

My siblings came to visit me this past weekend and I’m really glad that they did!  I had to work a 16 hour shift the night that they got there, so I spent most of Saturday sleeping.  But once I arose from my slumber, I showered, got a little fancy and we headed out to Sonic!

Now for those of you that don’t know, there aren’t a lot of Sonic Drive-ins in the DMV where I’m from.  But we are FOREVER seeing commercials for all of the awesome food and it’s a little ridiculous.  What a tease.  But where I currently live, there’s a Sonic 15 minutes away!  So decided to treat them to some Sonic Drive-In fun in exchange for a quick photo shoot sans tripod…lol

Black Beanie – Forever21 / Cropped sweater – Charlotte Russe / Leather shorts – Forever21 / Over-the-knee socks – H&M / Suede wedge booties – Aldo / Lipstick – MAC “Rebel”

Can you tell I’m really starting to tap into my Streetwear style?  It’s so much fun!  Can’t wait to keep exploring and finding what works for me in this fashion genre…

Is it sad that I’m already looking forward to the weekend and it’s only Wednesday?  Don’t lie, so are you…lol.  Only a few more days!

Have a wonderful rest of the week guys and I’ll see you soon! 🙂

Unblemish Journey: 2 Month Update

**WARNING:  What you are about to read and the pictures you are about to see are 100% raw and real.   This is my skin story.  I just wanted to share my struggle in hopes that maybe it could help someone else out there.**

Hey guys!  Finally got around to doing an update on my Unblemish journey.  As most of you know, a couple months ago I started a new skin regimen using the Rodan + Fields Unblemish system.  I started out on 8/15/13 and shared my skin story with you guys at that time.  Now, 2 months later, how have things shaped up?  Well let’s look at some comparison photos….

8/15/13 image

Now to you guys it may not seem like a  big difference, but here’s what I see:  Less blemishes and underlying more luminous skin tone.  Yes the hyperpigmentation is still there, but I didn’t expect that to change dramatically in such a short period of time.  I’m thinking maybe over the course of a year of use then maybe I’ll see some significant changes where that’s concerned.  But overall, I definitely do feel like the system is doing SOMETHING.  I plan to continue using it and updating you guys.  I’m actually still using the bottles from my first shipment so I’d definitely say it’s worth the money.

Have any of you guys started using the Unblemish system?  If you have, what are your thoughts?  Let me know in the comment section down below.

Til next time…

Dressed To A T #66: Leather for Brunch

It’s time for the big reveal!  Okay not really…lol.

But! For those of you who were interested in seeing my OOTD from yesterday’s DC Chillin’ post with all the details, here you go 🙂

Blush blazer – Forever21 / Cream blouse – Target / High-waisted leather shorts – Forever21 / Clutch – H&M / Wedge booties – Aldo / Lipstick – RiRi Loves MAC “Talk That Talk”

It was such a gorgeous day that the shorts were perfect and the wedges definitely were a good idea considering the amount of walking we ended up doing that day….*sigh* I miss the DMV!  It’s great to go back and visit.

I’m actually really happy where I am to be honest. If nothing else, I’m able to save money because….in case you didn’t know, DC is muy expensivo!  But…I’m hoping I can spend some more time there later on in my career. You know…when I’m ballin’ and such. lol.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  Hope you enjoyed the outfit post 🙂

Looking forward to the weekend! Well…after working my 16 hour shift on Saturday evening.  Going to see Janelle Monae live in Philly with some of my girlies! I can’t wait! (^_^)

Have a great Thursday and I’ll see ya next time!

Dressed To A T #65: 25th Birthday Part 2/Black &White!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

This past weekend I got to go home to the DMV to celebrate my 25th Birthday (once again) with all of my family and friends.  It was so much fun.  I just really enjoy being back home and being with the ones I love 🙂

I bought this dress about a month or two ago in anticipation for the “event”.  I just loved it so much because it was clean and elegant.

Oh…and the braids are back! Surprise! lol.  Box braids life has commenced! lol

Dress:  ASOS / Shoes – Forever21

I definitely enjoyed the day celebrating.  And then I got to spend most of the following day out and about with two of my very close friends brunching and roaming the streets of DC! But….I’ll save that for tomorrow’s post 😉

Until then!

RiRi♥MAC Fall Collection Haul

Hey guys!  It’s the weekend!  And I’m heading home to the DMV!  Friends and fam, I cannot wait to see you all and celebrate with you!

BUT!  Before I do, just wanted to pop in and share with you what I got from the RiRi♥MAC Fall collection!  Yes, I was able to snag a few items from the online launch this past Monday (September 30th) and the line also came out in stores yesterday (October 3rd).  Pretty much everything is sold out online but hopefully in stores there are still some items available!

Check out the pics below to see what I got 🙂

I bought these eyebrow pencils for my sisters.  I’ve never been able to master the whole filling in your eyebrows with a pencil thing, but they sure have! lol  I asked them what they wanted from the collection and they said these items so I hope they like them! lol.

I got these two new lipsticks from the line because the nude color looked like it would be perfect against my skin tone and the “Talk That Talk” color looks like the perfect dark berry color for the fall and winter.  I’m actually planning to wear that lipstick to brunch with some of my ladies this weekend.  Stay tuned for that post soon!

Yup.  I got another RiRi Woo lipstick and the lip glass in the same name.  Yes I already have one  but this is literally my go-to red lipstick, and I’m sure I’m gonna need a replacement tube soon the way I use that there lipstick.  So basically, I got it as a back up for when the current tube is finished.  And the lip glass:  AMAZING!  Very opaque and shiny.  I haven’t been into lipgloss as of late…when I want color on my lips I stick to lipsticks, most of which are matte.  But this gloss…is everything.

Nope, this last product isn’t a RiRi♥MAC lipstick.  But MAC brought back the Viva Glam I lipstick that they developed with Ru Paul back in the day.  Now I haven’t been a big fan of the recent Viva Glam lipsticks (by Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj), which are a bit more nude in color and look too pale and pasty on my skin tone.  But THIS deep burgundy red is definitely looking like it’s gonna be my go-to red for the fall and winter.  That’ll help me (hopefully) save up my RiRi Woo for the spring and summer months.

I have to say that the packaging for the RiRi♥MAC collection is beautiful.  Definitely a big reason why so many people wanted to get their hands on some of the products.  But the quality and colors of the lipsticks are also phenomenal.  I’m very happy with them 🙂

And what do you know, MAC announced that there will be a RiRi♥MAC Holiday collection coming out as well!  I’m pretty excited about it.  Not sure if I’ll actually purchase anything, but I’m looking forward to seeing what items are released.

Were you guys able to get anything from the RiRi♥MAC Fall collection? What were your favorite items?  Let me know down below!

Off to have what I hope to be a great weekend celebrating with family and friends in the DMV!  I’ll try to take some pics (at least outfit pics…pretty excited about what I’ll be wearing over the weekend).

Until then…

Love and God Bless,
