Dressed To A T #60: Romper Jock for “Wolverine”

Okay…so clearly I can’t stay away from you guys lol.  Vacation or not, blogging is so fun for me!  Where there’s WiFi, there will be blog posts lol.

Over the weekend, my cousins, siblings, and I ventured out to see Wolverine (which is AWESOME by the way.  If you haven’t already seen it, DO IT!  And as I was forewarned, let me do the same for you: Don’t leave once the credits roll!  Thank me later…but back to this…lol).

I bought this romper a few weeks ago at Forever21 not knowing how or where I was going to wear it but knowing that the eyelet details and sweetheart neckline were so endearing and flirty that I couldn’t let it stay there.

The night we went out to Scarborough for the movie was a tad chilly so I asked my sis to borrow her letterman jacket and this lovely outfit was born…I’m so in love…

White eyelet romper – Forever21 / Black and white letterman jacket – Ross (borrowed from my sis) / Black sandals – Topshop / Lipstick – MAC RiRi Woo

Love. Again, check out Wolverine, in theaters now and have a great rest of the week!

My Favorite Shoe Style Of The Summer

Hey guys!  Even though I’m still out of the country enjoying my vacay (which has been AHmazing so far by the way!  Special post coming soon!), wanted to still put up a quick post for your reading pleasure 🙂

Have I ever told you guys how much I LIVE for the spring and summer??? Well if I haven’t, now you know 🙂 I’m a warm-climate baby by birth (I was born in Guyana) and lived in the USVI for quite a few years before moving to the northeast US with my family.  So winter time is always a struggle for me…but that’s a story for another post.  What this is really about, as the title states, is SHOES!

I’ve found myself really loving the ankle strap stiletto sandal trend this spring and summer.  Now, it’s not a new style by any means, but I’ve just found myself really gravitating towards this particular style as of late.  I definitely always love a good heel, I live for sandals/anything open toed, the ankle strap just makes me feel a little more…sturdy (? lol), and I adore the covered heel portion as opposed to the slingback style which always seems to hurt my ankles when I attempt to wear them.

Here are a few of my favorite styles that I’ve seen while surfing the internet periodically reading my favorite blogs and doing online/in-store window shopping:

1.  Zara Black Leather Sandals  // 2. Prabal Gurung for Target Ankle-Strap Pump in Apple Red  // 3. Sole Society Sheila open toe heel // 4.  Target Mossimo Vinta Ankle Strap Heels // 5. Chinese Laundry Women’s Lucky Charm Gold & Orange Sandals

What do you guys think about this shoe style?  What’s your favorite fashion trend so far this year?

Feel free to leave your comments below!

Thanks for stopping by the blog and I’ll see ya soon!

Vacay Fashionista: What I’m Packing

Hey loves!  Happy Tuesday!  Guess who’s on vacation for the next 2 weeks??? This Peds Resident is!  I’m super excited.  This is my first real vacation as a working girl and I’m definitely gonna get as much fun and rest in as I can.  But of course with the fun of a Vacay, comes the blah of packing.  I really really despise packing and unpacking, especially for periods of time longer than a few days.  So two weeks…yeah it was a challenge.  But!  Deciding to do a blog post about it definitely helped make things more exciting.

Lots goes into packing, but for this post I just wanted to focus on the clothing/fashion aspect and share with you guys what I plan to wear over the next couple of weeks away from my lovely closet in the apartment….here goes!

These are two of my favorite PJs. One’s a Peanuts themed oversized tee/nightgown and the other is a pink thermal PJ set with monkey faces!  Don’t judge me…I’m a Peds Resident (lol). I definitely plan on getting lots of rest over the next 2 weeks so comfort is a must while doing that.

Now…to be completely honest, this is probably wishful thinking that I’ll even do any sort of working out while I’m on vacay…but I figured where there’s pavement I could at least go for a jog?  Maybe?  It’s the thought that counts??? smh…lol

I definitely need to make an appearance at a beach or pool somewhere during this vacation. These two swimsuits are begging for my attention.  Who am I to deny them their shine?  Exactly.  Nobody.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love a good romper.  They’re easy, one-piece outfit wonders and absolutely perfect for the summer.  I love them with all my heart.

Similarly, maxi dresses are also a PERFECT summer choice.  One piece and a complete outfit.  Simply perfection.

Two weekends. Two Church outfits. One pair of shoes and one clutch that will go pretty well with both.

I love a good Fit ‘n’ Flare dress.  And these 3 dresses are so different but all still me.  Flirtatious and feminine, as my friend/stylist Jana would say (^_^)

Some fun outfit pairings for good measure.  I’ve been wanting to rock these for a while and what better time than vacay?

Three handbags, a pair of sunglasses, and yes, a lint-roller.  I think it’s a very important accessory but I guess that can be up for debate…lol.

My black loafers. Sandals. My favorite pair of wedge sandals. Nude high-heeled sandals. And the amazing Metal T-strap faux-suede high-heeled sandals. Yup. Winning combos shall abound.

Yup!  My summer vacation wouldn’t be complete without bringing along my signed copy of Revenge Wears Prada to enjoy and complete within the next two weeks.  I’m so excited to finally dig in!

And just like that….

…all my packing’s done and I’m ready!

I’ll be in the DMV for a few days catching up with the homies then heading to Toronto with my family to spend time with my extended family.  I’m SUPER excited and rest assured I will have my camera with me to capture all of the fun.

Hope you guys had a great start to the week.  I’m gonna get started on Revenge… then get fancy to hang out with my friends later!  Til next time…

Love and God Bless,

Dressed To A T #59: Fourth of July Revisited

Happy Tuesday guys!

The winning outfit was “Red, White, & Blue, Boo!”.  I didn’t actually take pictures on Fourth of July so I took some time out yesterday to revisit and recreate the look.

Here Comes The…Wedding Guest (Finale): Auntie Estra & Uncle Lester

They say true love is timeless and knoweth no age (that last part I may have made up…but it’s true!)

(Cover) DSCN2724

This past weekend my family and I traveled to New York for my aunt’s wedding (as mentioned in yesterday’s post).  I am just soooooo happy that she’s found such a great, loving and caring man who is just right for her to lead and be the priest of her home!  When I tell you God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect, believe it!  No matter how long it takes, God will give you WHAT you need, JUST when you need it most.  Don’t get me to sharing testimonies….mercy!  I’m so happy for both of them and the amazingly beautiful blended family that now exists (no like seriously…3 fahn sons and a gorgeous teenage girl!  It’s kind of ridiculous how beautiful they all are…lol)

For this final wedding of my 2013 season, I wanted to of course do another pop of color but definitely something a bit more grown up and elegant.  My first dress was sexy and classy.  The second wedding guest dress was fun and flirty.  This time…Nordstram Rack really hooked me up!

Dress – Nordstrom Rack / Clutch – DSW / Shoes – Forever21 / Lipstick – MAC Deeply Adored (Marilyn Monroe collection)

I am so so so happy for my auntie and her hubby.  I pray that they continue to grow in love together for as long as they both shall live 🙂

Well, that wraps up the 2013 wedding season for me (at least to my knowledge…lol) and thus…we come to the ed of this HCTWG series…for now.  I’ve already been invited to THREE weddings next year!  So look forward to more wedding guest dress-up fun in 2014 🙂

Thanks SO MUCH for supporting this series and stopping by to check out the blog.  I had a lot of fun putting it together for sure.  I hope you stick around and see what else I have in store here on the blog!

Dressed To A T #58: Neutral. Nude. New York.

How do we ever make it though Mondays??? lol. Hopefully this post helps brighten your day 🙂

This past weekend I went to New York with my family to celebrate the nuptials of one of my aunts and her boo!  But I’ll talk more about that in tomorrow’s HCTWG post (the final installment of the series!  Catch up on the first two parts before tomorrow’s post if you haven’t been following!)

While we were there, we did brave the blazing heat to attend church on Sabbath.  Y’all it was HOT! Summer is definitely in full swing!  I wore this super cute peplum tan/nude/beige dress that I actually bought in New York over this past Thanksgiving on my first shopping trip to Top Shop New York.  The dress was actually 2 sizes too big but it was on clearance and…from Top Shop soooo…clearly I didn’t care lol.  I finally got around to getting it taken in a few weeks ago and thought this was the perfect time to break it out and here was the result 🙂

Dress – Top Shop / Shoes – Forever21 / Clutch – DSW / Belt – H&M / Fragrance – Burberry Summer (Sephora) / Lip color – NARS Matte “Train Bleu”

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Look forward to sharing the final installment of the HCTWG series on the blog tomorrow so I’ll see you then!
