Dressed To A T #55: Monochromatic Minimalist…With A Twist

Guess who finally bought herself a tripod??? *ecstatically points to self!* LOL

Now I can really get back into blogging and doing OOTD posts like I’d really want to!  I just wish my camera was one that could be operated with a remote.  That running back and forth AND trying to get a good pose all in 10 seconds? Mercy! lol  Maybe a new fancy camera will be on my wishlist for my birthday/Christmas this year…but I digress.

I’ve always loved the simplicity of black and white.  So fresh. So clean. #Outkast

On this particular Sabbath, I actually wasn’t planning (the day before) to wear black and white at all.  BUT!  Then I saw this pair of lovely shoes at Target (where I convinced myself I was only going to grocery shop. Yeah. Right.)  I knew that I had to have them…and I had the perfect outfit with which to wear them….

Mossimo® Vinta Ankle Strap Heels – Black/White

I saw these shoes and my heart literally skipped a beat and I squealed aloud.  They were quite a deal for just under $30 and are very reminiscent of a similar style offered by Zara that I had my eye on, for less than half the price!

Here’s what these lovely specimens inspired!

White button up – Zara / Black circle skirt – H&M / Wide band black belt – old dress from Dots / Shoes – Target

I loved the outcome.  And my hair was doing everything right  that day!  This transitioning thing has gone pretty well so far!  But that’s a story for another time.

Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to leave your comments below and hope you enjoyed the post and had an awesome Memorial Day weekend!

Here Comes The…Wedding Guest (I) – Rob & Rosie

On April 28, 2013, I was so excited to be able to attend Rob & Rosie’s wedding. They are such a beautiful couple inside and out and I love them both dearly!

Rob & Rosie's Wedding

The ceremony was lovely, even with the showers of blessing that decided to fall near the end…lol

I wore a very simple red dress from Zara, and when I first showed a pic of it to my friends, they thought it was too simple to wear to a wedding. But I believe in no such thing! Lol. A simple dress just allows for YOU to wear the dress instead of letting the dress wear you. When accessorized with a fab ‘do, the right shoes, confidence, and good posture, that simple dress can turn into….well, pics are worth a thousand words right? Lol

Dress – Zara / Shoes – Delicious (brand) / Clutch – DSW

I am so happy to have been able to attend this wedding of two very musically talented individuals who have been able to serve side by side in ministry and with love. Praying that God provides them with an abundance of blessings throughout their marriage.

Hope you guys enjoyed this first installment of HCTWG!  Stay tuned for part II on June 11th.  And there will be a new post on the blog next Tuesday, so until then…

Here Comes The….Wedding Guest: The Trilogy Intro

Yes, I know that title seems utterly epic so…don’t judge me lol.

Hey guys! So wedding season is DEFINITELY in full swing and I must say…I live for it.  I love attending weddings and celebrating the union of two people I love becoming one.  So far, I’ll be attending three weddings in the next few months so I decided I’d make it into a series of posts here on the blog, hence the epic title: “Here Comes The…Wedding Guest: The Trilogy”. I figured I’d be able to get someone at each of the weddings I attend to take pictures of me (which is one of my dilemmas for doing OOTD posts on the blog since I’m living on my own without a tripod…I need to fix this…but I digress) and I can share them, along with pics of the actual wedding events, with you guys here on the blog!

I’ll be putting up a new post for this three part series on the second Tuesday of each month for the next three months starting TODAY!  So look out for HCTWG (see what I did there) posts on:
May 14th
June 11th
July 9th

I already have the dresses for each of the weddings, and I’m super excited to plan the looks because they are vastly different pieces.  So stay tuned for that!

And now…here comes part I!

Out & About: “ExPerience Color” Art Show by Robert Harris

As a typical girl, I’m drawn to things that look good.  Well maybe that’s not even just a girl thing, that’s a human trait lol.  I’ve always appreciated fashion and photography and art….from a distance.  I have gone to a few museums in the past, but prior to this weekend, I had never been to an art show.  It’s secretly been something I was interested in doing…along with attending a fashion show…but that’s another story for another time.

So imagine my excitement when I learned that one of my friends in New Brunswick, NJ was going to have a show exhibiting his very own art pieces, paintings to be exact, and it was his very first show!  I definitely had to be there to support and experience the greatness!

The exhibit was called ExPerience COLOR by Robert Harris.

And let me just say….Rob is amazingly talented!  Take a look below and you will undoubtedly agree with me.

The piece below is one of my favorites!  Rob actually custom made this piece for one of his friends as her gift to her now husband on their wedding day.  Like….how uniquely PERFECT is that???

When asked what inspires his work, Rob stated that he’s inspired by pretty much everything he sees.  This particular collection took him about a month to complete, and he’s already working on his next collection which hopefully will have a fall debut and accompanying show.

I for one am extremely humbled to know someone with his level of talent.  I’m definitely going to be purchasing or commissioning a piece from him for my apartment soon.

If you’re interested in doing the same, or seeing more of Robert’s work, do check out his website by clicking HERE and contact him with your requests.  All of his artwork is for sale and he also does custom pieces  He does amazing graphic design as well.  Just LOOK at this:

My eyes can’t take it!  I honestly have no idea what that translates to in English…but it doesn’t even matter lol.

Rob’s website was designed by another talented friend of mine, and one of Rob’s best friends, Steve Duffis who also happens to have a blog so definitely check him out as well!

Thanks Rob for letting us ExPerience Color through your eyes…well paint brush 🙂 .  Looking forward to many more shows and breathtaking art.

Love and God Bless,
